2022 Leadership Journey Project: AI In Anthropometry
Dr Shachi is a public health expert with over 12 years of techno-managerial experience, working on large scale health system strengthening and governance programmes. At CIFF India she manages a portfolio of live programmes and a pipeline of potential investments in maternal and child health and nutrition, NTDs and WASH.
Prior to CIFF she worked with UNDP, where she led project implementation of an innovative technological platform – electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) that supports the government’s Universal Immunization Program. The program has brought 29,000 vaccine storage points onto a digital platform with capacity building of 37,000 frontline health workers in all 36 States & UTs in India and tracking 650 million doses of vaccines a year. She has also worked for the Immunization Technical Support Unit of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and with WHO India. Her work has included contributing to monitoring, evaluation and surveillance; designing comprehensive capacity building as well as outbreak response and behaviour change communication on issues such as mental health and addressing stigma and discrimination during the ongoing pandemic.
She holds a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate (MD) in Community Health and Preventive Medicine and is passionate about equity and innovation.
