Ms. Nankunda is a founding member of Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU), currently the Executive Director, Technical Assistance. She is an experienced Development Communications Specialist and trainer.
Nankunda has more than 20 years’ experience in design, implementation, and evaluation of strategic communication programs; training of trainers; development of training curricula, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and tools. She has worked at both central level and within communities to implement projects aimed at social behavior change. She also has experience developing HIV&AIDS prevention programs and community-based training in Uganda and internationally.
Nankunda’s journey has been fueled by her unrelenting passion for empowering others in leadership skills. Her gift and passion in seeing great potential and acting on it have allowed her to grow her career in the field of Social Behaviour Change and leadership. At CDFU, she has supported numerous projects addressing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); Maternal and Child Health; and HIV&AIDS. Nankunda has participated in various fora in Uganda and abroad sharing key learnings from her work.
She has a Master’s degree in Public Health Leadership; Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management; and Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.A. Education). She received training in Strategic Communication from Johns Hopkins University/Center for Communications Programs, World Bank, and NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development (Integrated Marketing Communication for Behavioral Impact [IMC/COMBI] in Health and Development).
