Dr. Rose is an Associate Professor and a consultant of Pediatrics and Child Health. As head of the department, she represented the country in several external meetings. She was the first female Dean in Sudan; first at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in the University of Bahr-el-Ghazal, and later, the school of Medicine in the University of Juba (UoJ) where she Initiated and led the development of the first ever Unified National Medical Curriculum (MBBS) for the Country with support from WHO and also successfully led the team of School of Medicine self-accreditation process. She wrote the Concept paper for the establishment of the now operating School of Public Health and Nursing (UoJ).
Dr. Rose has immense experience towards transformational leadership and mentoring of teams with focus on quality and results, health systems strengthening and program management, displayed in her work with Cordaid as Hospital and later Project Coordinator.
She is the patron of South Sudan Women in Medicine, a member of the South Sudan Medical Council, Advisor to South Sudan Pediatric Association and member of the Professorial Inaugural Editorial Board (UoJ). She is a former executive member of Sudan Pediatric association and South Sudan Doctors’ Association.
Fun Fact: Dr. Rose enjoys reading, travelling and a relaxing evening watching TV and spending quality family time with her children. She also loves to volunteer at her church and community activities.
