Veena Sriram is an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair Tier 2 in Global Health Policy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. Dr. Sriram is jointly appointed between the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs and the School of Population and Public Health. Her research sits at the intersection of global health, social science and public policy, and her interests are in understanding power and politics in health policy processes, with a particular focus on health workforce policy. Her work has been published in Social Science and Medicine, the BMJ, BMJ Global Health and Health Policy and Planning. Dr. Sriram has designed and implemented a range of research projects, and secured funding from and collaboration with the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the National Institutes of Health, the World Health Organization and Michael Smith Health Research BC.
