Embarking on my professional journey as an economics graduate, I found my true calling as a feminist scholar, a decade later, championing ideals within the realm of public health. Over the past two decades, my journey has been a whirlwind of experiences, from delving into public health program evaluations as a research assistant to assuming the mantle of a full-fledged research director. I’ve done many different things in these years—teaching, giving advice, documenting, and diving deep into the complicated world of public health.
Venturing into the heartlands of rural India, I’ve witnessed firsthand the intricate relationships and transactions between individuals, families, communities, and the machinery of public health policies and institutions. This journey has led me to a profound revelation: the need to weave the essence of people’s lived realities into the fabric of health programs, processes, and products. It’s time to channel my insights and understanding towards crafting solutions that genuinely resonate with and benefit those they’re intended for.
