Currently I am associate professor (biological sciences) and associate dean, IISER Tirupati. I am trained as a molecular neurobiologist my research aims to understand impact of metabolism in neurons. My group is currently engaged in researching effects of hyperglycemia in retinal neurons. I completed my professional education from Center for Molecular Neurosciences (University of Hamburg) and postdoctoral fellowship at Universities of Duesseldorf and Tuebingen. The research in our lab is supported by various funding agencies, DBT, DST and DAAD. I have been with IISER Tirupati from its inception day – August 10th, 2015. As a senior faculty member at IISER Tirupati, I am currently Senate member, curriculum committee member and previously held many other administrative roles. Being Associate Dean, Students, I am responsible for student’s life, welfare, mental health and various ministry activities.
