Shelby Cash is a Health Scientist at the CDC, where she co-leads the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) team within the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI). She designs and implements science-based strategies to improve the uptake of malaria control interventions across 30 PMI-supported countries.
 
With expertise in behavioral science and research, Shelby applies evidence-driven approaches to address public health challenges, particularly in malaria prevention. Her work focuses on optimizing biomedical interventions through demand generation, improving adherence to treatments, and shifting community norms around key behaviors such as vector control.
 
Shelby holds a B.A. from Spelman College (2010) and an MPH from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health (2012). Her interdisciplinary background in public health and behavioral science equips her to develop impactful, sustainable health interventions in diverse communities.
