Dr. Shibani Kulkarni is a Health Scientist and the team lead for the Demand for Immunization Team at the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. She has experience in maternal and child health, nutrition, and immunization. Her current work involves understanding and addressing behavioral and social drivers of vaccination demand and uptake, related operational research, and monitoring and evaluation. Her work on vaccine demand also intersects with other social determinants of health such as gender and immunization. Dr. Kulkarni holds a PhD in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior from the University of South Carolina where much of her work focused on examining the contextual and behavioral determinants of infant and young child feeding in low- and middle-income countries. She also has an MPH in Global Health from Emory University.
