Yemelaknesh (Yemi) Wolde is an expert in health financing and health system strengthening, with over a decade of combined experience in these fields, as well as in health facility leadership and healthcare service provision. Currently, Yemi serves as the Senior Health Financing Advisor at Open Development, LLC. In this role, she leads strategic initiatives aimed at improving the financing of health systems and interventions. Yemi collaborates with governments and stakeholders across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia to develop and implement innovative health financing solutions that align with national health priorities and promote sustainability.
Before joining Open Development, Yemi worked with the Clinton Health Access Initiative, where she provided technical assistance to policymakers on issues related to national health insurance, private sector engagement, and integrated primary healthcare service delivery. Yemi holds a master’s degree in public health with a specialization in Health Economics from Umea University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Addis Ababa University.
