Fumane Lekoala is a highly accomplished Public Health professional with over 10 years’ experience in program management, specializing in immunization initiatives and health systems strengthening. Currently serving as the COVID-19 Management Specialist and Global Health Security Lead at USAID, Lesotho, Fumane possesses in-depth knowledge of Global Health policies and frameworks, with a strong commitment to advancing health security and equity.

Fumane has a proven track record in developing and implementing health education and communication strategies, focusing on community engagement and awareness. Their expertise lies in designing, coordinating, and implementing vaccination programs, including monitoring and evaluation to assess impact and effectiveness.

She is also skilled in Stakeholder Engagement, where she collaborates with organizations such as USAID, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), the World Health Organization (WHO), CSOs and the media to enhance health initiatives and improve Public Health outcomes.

Currently, Fumane is a member of the Southern Africa Regional Immunization Working Group, a team of immunization experts that advises and guides country work plans and advance the IA2030 goals and on the WHO JEE roster of experts.

Fumane holds a Post-graduate Certificate in Education (PgCE) from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Lesotho and currently studying towards a Master of Science (MSc.) in International Public Health from Liverpool John Moores University, UK.
