As part of my work with TASO Uganda, I provide technical assistance to ensure the delivery of quality malaria services for vulnerable populations, including children under 5 and pregnant women. Malaria remains one of the leading causes of illness and death in Uganda, with these high-risk groups disproportionately affected.
In my role, I coordinate with implementing partners and the National Malaria Elimination Division to strengthen malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. I also support healthcare workers in delivering high-quality malaria services and build the capacity of local CSOs and CBOs to enhance malaria awareness. Using community engagement strategies like the Household Champions Against Malaria (HOCAM) approach, I work to increase participation in malaria prevention and control efforts.
By ensuring access to high-quality malaria care, my work contributes to reducing the malaria burden, improving health outcomes, and fostering a healthier, malaria-free future for communities in Uganda.
