2022 Leadership Journey Project: Anticipatory Action in Mitigating Gender Based Violence in Humanitarian Crises
I am a Commonwealth Scholar in Global Health and Development, a qualified nurse with over 8 years of experience in leading, designing, implementing, and managing health programmes in humanitarian and development contexts. In the past four years, I have done over 10 deployments in different settings such as conflict, protracted crises, displacement, epidemics, drought and natural disasters and worked in multiple countries including East and Southern Africa Region. I have deployed to category one (cat 1) rapid onset, large scale and complex humanitarian crises in Bangladesh, North East Syria, Mozambique, Yemen, Myanmar and Afghanistan. The most recent deployments included Regional COVID-19 Technical Advisor for East and Southern Africa region in 2020, Health Sector Lead in Myanmar in 2021 and presently as Health Advisor in Afghanistan.
