Allen Namagembe is a clinical epidemiologist and a biostatistician, currently working as the Deputy Project Director and M&E lead for the Uganda Private Sector Family Planning Project with PATH in Uganda.
She has over 15 years of experience in evidence generation and translating evidence into practice and policies, with over 10 policies influenced by evidence she has been part of. Allen has closely worked with Ministry of Health in Uganda to introduce and scale up DMPA-SC including self-injection, by building the capacity of both clinic based and community health workers through training, mentorships, and support supervision, developing training materials, job aids, client journey maps, supervision tools, and supervision of demand creation activities. Using human-centered design principles, Allen has engaged diverse users to co-create interventions that meet the priorities of the targeted users.
Allen also serves as a global and regional expert/resource on self-care and a member of the Uganda self-care expert group. She has a Bachelor of Statistics degree and a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics degree from Makerere University in Uganda.
Fun fact: Allen loves empowering young women. Over the years, she has mentored over 20 young women who have gone on to become successful young leaders and professionals.
