Empowering marginalized communities through science-driven solutions has been my passion since witnessing healthcare inequities in my small town. Today, as a Senior Manager at Grand Challenges India at BIRAC, I leverage my scientific expertise and program management skills to lead impactful initiatives tackling global health inequities.
From spearheading science programs in India’s Northeast at DBT, MoST and then holding a position at GCI-BIRAC to collaborating with prestigious partners like BMGF, USAID and Wellcome Trust, I have cultivated a unique ability to navigate intricate bureaucratic environments and refined my interpersonal and communication abilities. As a Science Administrator in the government, collaborating with major philanthropies, I spearheaded the design, development and implemented programs tailored to address country-specific challenges and opportunities in healthcare for underserved communities. This experience equipped me to leverage science and policy to achieve equitable health outcomes.
Currently, I am pursuing a doctorate in nutrition, further equipping myself to tackle intricate challenges. My pilot project in Delhi’s urban slums uses adaptive designs to improve maternal health, impacting infant survival, cognitive development, and immune function.
The unwavering quest for equity has propelled the transition from small-town dreamer to global health advocate. This continuous pursuit of knowledge, coupled with my firm commitment to equity, fuels my drive to create a more just and healthier world.
