Banasri Roy Professor, BITS Pilani
Dr. Banasri Roy, by training, is a materials scientist (Ph.D from Colorado School of Mines, Colorado and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, Colorado, USA) and M.Tech from IIT-Kanpur, India), applied physicist (M.Sc. from University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA), and chemist (B. Sc. with honor from Calcutta University). The exercise in multidisciplinary research fields helps her to understand the advance theory of the characterization and applications. Dr. Roy has vast expertise in nanomaterials, analytical characterization techniques (SEM/TEM, XRD, TGA, RAMAN, XPS, DTA-TGA, UV-Vis spectroscopy, GC, GC-MS-MS, etc.), and data analysis. She has extensively worked on the development of nanocatalyst systems for the utilization of waste (agricultural and others) to convert to energy sources and other value added chemicals. She also works on the development of nanoparticles for environmental pollution control applications. She authored and co-authored over 50 peer reviewed papers in different international journals, achieved over 1550 citations, 35 i-index and 20 H-index. Currently she is working as an professor in the chemical engineering department at BITS- Pilani, Pilani campus. She served the institution as the head of the department of Chemical Engineering, BITS Pilani, Pilani campus and as the Co-Coordinator of Central Analytical Laboratory (CAL) BITS-Pilani, Pilani Campus from Sept 2020-Aug 2022. She guest edited one special issues of Materials Today: Proceedings ( https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/materials-today-proceedings/vol/76/part/P2) and a Proceedings of ICON-NSLE 2022 entitled ‘Recent Trends in Nanotechnology for Sustainable Living and Environment’ from Springer (Link: https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-981-99-3386-0.)
