Dr. Benedicta Masanja is a seasoned public health leader with 20 years of experience in clinical practice, project design and management, research, and health systems strengthening. She has worked extensively on HIV, tuberculosis, reproductive, maternal, child, and adolescent health, focusing on sustainable, high-impact public health programs.

Currently, she serves as the Chief of Party at Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS), leading initiatives to improve health outcomes through strategic partnerships and capacity-building. Before joining THPS in 2012, she held key roles at Christian Social Services Commission, Family Health International (now FHI360), and Mbeya Regional Referral Hospital.

Dr. Masanja holds a Master of Public Health from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Dar es Salaam.

She values the role of women in global health leadership, recognizing their ability to drive innovation, address social determinants of health, and inspire future generations to take on leadership roles.
