Bhavya Gowda is currently a Senior Director at Results for Development where she leads the Market Shaping Practice. In her role, she works with local change agents to shape markets for products, systems, and areas of intersection in Africa and Asia to advance health equity. As practice lead, Bhavya leads business and partnership development, manages strategy development and execution, provides strategic and technical guidance to projects, and oversees a global team of ~30 staff and fellows.
Prior to her role at Results for Development, Bhavya spent nearly nine years working at PATH in both Washington, D.C. and Johannesburg, South Africa. By applying a market lens to complex global health problems, Bhavya made significant contributions to increase access to products and services across sexual and reproductive health, cervical cancer, malaria, diabetes, diagnostics, medical devices, product innovation, and human-centered design.
Bhavya started her global health career working for the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Ethiopia and Lesotho, leading an array of HIV and TB projects and working closely with the respective Ministries of Health. She began her career in the private sector, specifically healthcare consulting at Huron Consulting Group in Chicago, Illinois.
