Constance Agwang is a public health expert with over 18 years of experience in biomedical research, emergency preparedness, health systems strengthening, and disease surveillance. She has worked extensively with Uganda’s Ministry of Health and international partners to develop policies and strategic plans, particularly in malaria control and public health emergencies. She has led regional and national teams to implement high-impact programs that improve healthcare delivery and reduce disease burdens.
Currently, Constance serves as the Malaria Technical Advisor for Quality Improvement and Assurance with the PMI-Uganda Malaria Reduction Activity and is the Country Team Lead for MCD Global Health. Previously, she held leadership roles at the Infectious Diseases Institute, supporting emergency preparedness, disease surveillance, and global health security programs. She also served as a Malaria Focal Person with Uganda’s Ministry of Health and spent over a decade as a Scientific Research Associate at Med Biotech Labs.
She holds a Master of Public Health (SDG Track) from New York University, a Master of Science in Molecular Biology, and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Makerere University.
Constance is inspired by the increasing presence of women in global health leadership and their transformative impact on health systems.
