Sukhuoluhle (“Sukhu” for short) is a seasoned development professional with over 14 years of experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment, HIV/AIDS, population, and development issues. Having worked extensively with both the United Nations (UN) and civil society organizations, Sukhu brings a wealth of expertise to the table.
She holds an MSc in Applied Development Studies from the University of Reading and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology and Sociology from Africa University; Sukhu is well-equipped to address complex development challenges. Additional certifications in program management and monitoring and evaluation further enhance their skillset. Throughout her career, Sukhu has successfully implemented programs focused on: Sexual and Reproductive Health rights, Gender-based Violence prevention, Harmful cultural practices eradication (e.g., FGM, child marriage), Women’s economic empowerment, Social accountability and public resource management for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment and Agriculture & social protection. Sukhu is passionate about empowering women and girls and creating a more equitable world.
