Dr. Diana Wangeshi Njuguna is a passionate nurse educator and oncology researcher dedicated to advancing nursing education, clinical excellence, and cancer research. As the Chair of the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT), she plays a key role in training future nurses and improving healthcare standards.

With over 15 years of experience in clinical nursing, academia, and research, Dr. Diana has taught at AMREF International University, Kabarak University, Kenya Methodist University, and Egerton University. She has also worked as a Study Nurse with the University of Washington TREE program and a Nursing Officer at War Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Diana holds a PhD in Health Sciences (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, an MSc in Nursing from the University of Nairobi, and a BSc in Nursing from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. She is an active member of ONS-K, NNAK, and the Nursing Council of Kenya.

A strong advocate for women’s leadership in healthcare, Dr. Diana believes that women bring resilience, inclusivity, and transformative leadership that drives meaningful change in health systems.

Fun fact: As a PhD student in Europe, Dr. Diana learned how to ride a bicycle in just three days—and bought a brand-new bike on the fourth day!
