Dr. Lisa Mulenga is a medical doctor and public health expert with over 22 years of experience in clinical care, health systems strengthening, policy development, and program implementation across public, private, and NGO sectors. She currently serves as the Country Director of Girl Effect South Africa and sits on the boards of the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) and the Maram Bobb Children Foundation in Gambia. She is also a member of CIDRZ’s Research and Programmes Committee, a volunteer facilitator for the Girl Unlimited Educational Foundation in South Africa, and an MBA alumnus of the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
Throughout her career, Dr. Mulenga has held leadership roles in global health programs, including leading the Gates Foundation-funded MMC SUSTAIN programme at Genesis Analytics and serving as Deputy Chief of Party for USAID’s VMMC III Programme at URC. She has worked with organizations such as Society for Family Health, Africa Health Placements, and the CDC, focusing on HIV prevention and health program management.
Fun Fact: She once performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London with her high school choir in front of members of the royal family.
