Dr. Kafumba is an obstetrician and gynecologist currently serving as the Deputy Medical Director for the Maternal and Neonatal Health Program at Baylor Foundation Malawi. Based at Area 25 Community Hospital in Lilongwe, she is committed to improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes through research, mentorship, and continuous professional development. She also leads a cervical cancer program, strengthening healthcare worker capacity and expanding access to screening and early treatment in four health facilities.
Previously, Dr. Kafumba worked at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH), where she briefly served as both Head and Deputy Head of the OBGYN department before joining Baylor Foundation Malawi in late 2021. She has also been an honorary lecturer at Kamuzu College of Health Sciences (KUHeS) since 2021.
She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Malawi, now Kamuzu University of Health Sciences.
