Dr. Susan Ontiri is a public health specialist and researcher who serves as the Country Director for ICRHK. She leads a diverse portfolio of over 10 research programs and interventions focused on Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Maternal Health, HIV/STI, Child Protection, and Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH). Dr. Ontiri has extensive experience in managing Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research (MER) portfolios for country programs in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Malawi and Tanzania, specializing in sexual and reproductive health, encompassing family planning, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and safe abortion care projects.
Her expertise extends to global health initiatives, as she is a member of the Family Planning 2030 M&E working group, contributing to global stewardship in family planning program monitoring. Additionally, she serves on the Kenya Medical Research Institute Ethics Scientific Board. Dr. Ontiri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, a Master’s in Public Health (Epidemiology and Population Health), and a Doctorate in Global Health.
