Dr. Teacler G. Nematadzira is a Clinical Epidemiologist and Clinical Trials Specialist with 17 years of experience conducting research in perinatal populations. She is an Investigator and Clinical Research Site Leader at the University of Zimbabwe Clinical Trials Research Centre (UZ-CTRC), dedicated to improving women’s and children’s health through HIV prevention, treatment, and sexual and reproductive health interventions.

Her expertise includes biomedical research, clinical quality management, and fostering local and international collaborations. Since joining UZ-CTRC in 2017, she has contributed to trials proving the safety of nevirapine for infant prophylaxis and the efficacy of triple ART regimens in preventing vertical HIV transmission, influencing health policies and evidence-based solutions.

Dr. Nematadzira’s medical career began in 2000 at United Bulawayo Hospital, where she later worked at the Opportunistic Infections Clinic, deepening her commitment to HIV and reproductive health. She holds an MBChB and a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Zimbabwe and is a member of the UZ-CTRC Scientific Leadership Group, the ACTG Women’s Health Collaborative Science Group, and the FHI 360 Global Curriculum Advisory Group for contraception.

Fun Fact: A mother of twins, she enjoys the outdoors and mentoring young people within her church community.
