Elizabeth Adhiambo Ombech is a public health specialist and experienced leader with over a decade of expertise in program design, implementation, and operations management. As Director of Programs and Operations at Afya Research Africa, she leads strategic initiatives in sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, and digital health. She has a strong background in health systems strengthening, stakeholder engagement, and donor-funded projects.
With experience at organizations such as ZanaAfrica Foundation, FHI 360, APHRC, and Aga Khan Foundation, Elizabeth has managed health programs in Kenya and beyond. She has also worked as a consultant, lecturer, and scientific writer, contributing to impact evaluations and systematic reviews.
Elizabeth holds an MSc in Public Health and a BSc in Medical Microbiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Currently pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, she is dedicated to advancing evidence-based public health interventions.
