Elizabeth Kamahoro is a dedicated healthcare leader and registered nurse committed to strengthening nursing education, hospital management, and clinical leadership in Uganda. As the Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at Victoria University, Kampala, she leads efforts to enhance nursing training and professional development.
With extensive experience in both clinical and academic leadership, Elizabeth previously served as Principal Nursing Officer at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital, Nurse Manager at Mt. Elgon Hospital, and Assistant Academic Registrar at FINS Medical University. She spent over a decade at Kisoro District Hospital, managing the surgical ward, emergency unit, and hospital supervision team.
Elizabeth holds an MSc in Hospital Management from Uganda Martyrs University, a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Uganda Christian University, and a Diploma in Nursing from Mutolere School of Nursing and Midwifery. She is passionate about women’s leadership in healthcare, believing that empowering women in the field fosters innovation, accessibility, and quality improvement in health systems.
Fun fact: Elizabeth pursued a non-science course at the O and A levels but successfully advanced from a Diploma to a Master’s in the science field!
