Farnaz Malik, Senior Technical Advisor, Vital Strategies

Farnaz Malik serves as a Senior Technical Advisor for the Data Impact (DI) Program within the Bloomberg Philanthropy-funded Data for Health Initiative at Vital Strategies, bringing over 11 years of experience working on global health and policy initiatives. In her current role, Farnaz partners with country governments in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, providing technical assistance to inform evidence-based policymaking aimed at improving population health. She also leads the collaboration between the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Improvement Program and the DI Program, focusing on the use of vital statistics for decision-making. Her contributions have helped in strengthening the analysis and use of health data, supporting policymakers to make informed decisions that drive meaningful impact in communities.

Prior to Vital Strategies, Farnaz supported non-profits and foundations in their strategy development and program evaluation. She was a 2015-2016 Global Health Corps fellow at Housing Works where she worked on HIV/AIDS and housing policy advocacy at the national and global level. Farnaz holds an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a BA in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
