Mukasakindi Hildegarde is a mental health advocate and global health leader with 15 years of experience in community-based mental health services. She is currently a Clinical Instructor at Partners In Health, Rwanda, where she focuses on improving clinical care, mentorship, and research.
Her career spans various leadership roles, including Associate Director of the Mental Health Program at Partners In Health, where she led program planning, budgeting, and partner collaborations. She also served as Program Manager, overseeing staff supervision and program implementation. Prior to this, she worked at Drew Cares International, supporting HIV/AIDS psychosocial services across 13 health facilities, and at FACT-Rwanda, integrating mental health services into rehabilitation programs for survivors of violence.
Hildegarde holds a Master’s in Global Health Delivery and a Bachelor’s in Clinical Psychology, with a professional license to practice. She has completed specialized training in Global Mental Health from the University of Washington and Basic Safety and Security Awareness from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security. Passionate about health equity, she believes strengthening women’s leadership in global health fosters inclusivity, innovation, and social justice.
Fun fact: Hildegarde once dreamed of becoming a gospel singer and has written three gospel songs that she still plays at home but has never published!
