Janani Vijayaraghavan is a global public health professional with over 15 years of experience in sexual reproductive health and maternal, newborn and child health program implementation. As a Health Advisor with Plan International Canada, she provides technical and programmatic oversight to improve the delivery of SRH programs across several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. An important aspect of her work includes thought leadership; she recently authored a publication in the BMJ on strengthening adolescent agency for positive health outcomes. She has also been leading efforts to improve adolescent health and well-being through engagement with UN agencies, civil society, academia, and government. She has a Master of Health Science degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an undergraduate degree from McMaster University. Janani is passionate about striving for a just and gender equal world that harnesses the power and agency of women and girls.
