Johnasies brings over 15 years of experience in operations and program management with a number of community-serving organizations. Most recently he worked as Operations and Contracts Manager at MPact, Global Action for Gay Men’s Health and Rights (formerly the Global Forum on MSM & HIV), an advocacy organization based in Oakland, California that brought funding, policy, and research support to regional and in-country LGBT-led organizations across 62 countries. Prior to this role, he worked as an Operations Manager at Lotus Bloom Child and Family Center which provided child and family programs throughout Oakland, California.
Prior to his operations roles, Johnasies spent his career working with commercial district revitalization programs, administered an AmeriCorps program, and provided strategic program and fundraising consultation to several community development organizations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He also brings 4 years of experience working on local and statewide advocacy campaigns throughout the US.
Johnasies has a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Urban Studies. He also studied urban and regional planning and continues to maintain his interests in community development and global issues.
