With a Master’s degree in Physics (2011) and a subsequent PhD (2016), both earned in India, Dr. Kavita Pandey embarked on a trajectory of exploring the field of nanomaterials and electrochemistry in various applications. During her doctoral studies, Kavita earned a Newton Bhabha fellowship at University of Oxford. Under the guidance of Prof. Fraser Armstrong in this esteemed institution laid the foundation to bridge diverse scientific domains of enzymology, catalysis, and electronics. With impedance spectroscopy as her beacon, she embarked on a journey to unravel the internal charge-transfer properties of enzymes. This exploration held the promise of unlocking the secrets behind their unparalleled electrocatalytic efficiency and reversibility. She then went ahead for her postdoctoral studies to Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, where she unravel the mysteries of battery dynamics employing transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to observe in-situ electrochemical processes within live batteries. She is currently working as a scientist at Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, Bangalore. Her efforts are now dedicated to the fusion of electrochemical tools and the crafting of advanced functional interfaces for molecular detection, diagnostics, and imaging.
