Dr. Kerry Thomson is an epidemiologist with over 20 years of work experience across local, state, and federal levels of the U.S. public health system and for global health organizations in Africa, Asia, and Central America. Dr. Thomson received her MPH in global health from Emory University and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington. Her previous global health research and implementation projects working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Médecins Sans Frontières, and PATH have included scale-up of HPV test for cervical cancer screening, HIV self-testing, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, and reproductive health assessments among refugee women. In her current role as a Research Scientist with UW I-TECH, Dr. Thomson partners with the Zimbabwe Technical Assistance Training and Education Center for Health (Zim-TTECH) on evaluation of large-scale HIV care and treatment services.
