I am Dr. Leyanna Susan George and I currently work as Scientist E (Medical) at the Indian Council of Medical Research for the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India at New Delhi. I am a medical doctor specialized in MD Community Medicine. I also have a Master of Science in International health from Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, Heidelberg University, Germany. In my current role, at ICMR headquarters I am the program officer for vaccines and is responsible for research governance, coordinating and implementing research studies on vaccines that aid in generating evidence for policy making. My areas of research interest include new vaccine introduction, vaccine hesitancy, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation. Currently I am coordinating the Dengue vaccine phase III trials and HPV vaccine trials. Before joining ICMR, I was an academician. I worked as an Associate Professor and MPH coordinator for ten years at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Cochin, Kerala.
