Madalitso Juwayeyi is the Co-Founder and Programs Manager of FACT Malawi, a youth-led organization dedicated to advancing youth-friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). With seven years at FACT Malawi, she has successfully secured grants from organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, and Urgent Action Fund Africa.
Her initiatives have significantly improved access to family planning services, elevating it from the 9th to the 3rd most accessed service in her project area. She has trained over 3,000 girls in making reusable sanitary pads to combat period poverty and led a COVID-19 response project addressing sexual violence while equipping women and girls with prevention and reporting skills.
Madalitso holds a Postgraduate Master’s Diploma in International Gender Equality from the University of Iceland and a BSc in Nutrition and Public Health from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow, an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity, a GEST Fellow, and a recipient of the 50 African Women in Development award
Fun Fact: When she was about 6 or 7 years old, she loved the name Chrissy. So every time she met new people, she would tell them that her name was Chrissy.
