Manisha Mandal, Senior Project Officer, United Nations Development Programme
I am Dr. Manisha Mandal, and my journey spans from the outskirts of Delhi, to serving in diverse roles across more than eight states in India. As a kid with spark in her eyes and unwavering determination, I embarked on the path of medicine supported by my academic inclination. Recognizing the profound impact of robust healthcare systems I then earned my MD in Community Medicine from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Throughout my journey, including roles in grassroots healthcare, consultation with WHO India, and working in private tertiary care hospitals, as well as in government hospitals, I’ve witnessed first-hand the complex web of sociocultural, geographical, and political factors that shape the health outcomes of individuals and communities. As a state lead with UNDP India, I’ve led large-scale public health programs like COWIN and spearheaded pandemic mitigation strategies. Leveraging the power of digitalization in healthcare, I’ve worked tirelessly to ensure equitable access to healthcare for all with leaving no one behind policy. As an advocate of inclusion, my manifesto embodies strategic rigour and resilience aimed at bringing lasting impact. With each step forward, I strive to lead with compassion and drive transformative change in the lives of those I serve.
