2023 Leadership Journey Project: Expanding Contraceptive Choices for Women: Exploring the idea of an on-demand contraceptive pill
Mansharan’s transition into public health was a well thought out shift in her career path. Having worked across Procter and Gamble and GSK over a career spanning more than a decade, and on marketing for 2 phenomenal brands Horlicks and Sensodyne, a brief stint as an entrepreneur/co-founder, she consciously started to explore avenues to apply her knowledge and skills towards a meaningful contribution towards public health in India. This led to the start of the second innings of her career at Tata Trusts where she led the Tata Trusts & Mars collaboration Initiative (over a four-year duration) to “Make affordable nutrition accessible” via developing a portfolio of nutritious, clinically tested, delightful in taste yet affordable packaged foods. Currently, she leads Maternal and child health, nutrition, anemia, sickle cell disease and the Sexual and Reproductive Health portfolios at CHAI India. While all of her work is designed around maximizing impact towards the end beneficiary, personally, she derives immense satisfaction knowing that every single day, there is someone/somewhere in India who is getting access to a family planning product/service when and where they need it.
