Manuela Mogga is a public health professional specializing in gender and women’s health in South Sudan. With over six years of experience, she has worked to advance gender equality, youth empowerment, and community health. She actively contributes to national gender and youth policy dialogues and women’s health initiatives.
As the Reproductive, Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Lead at Amref Health Africa in South Sudan, she is the first woman and youth member of the organization’s Senior Leadership Team. Over four years, she has successfully expanded the RMNCAH portfolio by developing impactful proposals focused on women’s health, youth development, and community health system strengthening.
Manuela provides technical leadership to government ministries, collaborating with the Ministry of Health’s Reproductive Health Directorate on family planning, adolescent health, and maternal care. She has also advised the Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare on ending child marriage, combating gender-based violence, and addressing harmful traditional practices.
She founded and led several communities of practice, including the Amref Women’s Elevation Network. A dedicated mentor, she supports young women across South Sudan.
Fun Fact: A former Miss World South Sudan, Manuela has used her platform to champion girls’ education and menstrual health initiatives.
