Nagirinya Aidah is a public health leader and immunization advocate dedicated to strengthening maternal and child health services in Uganda. She currently serves as the Assistant District Health Officer (MCH) in Kalungu District, where she leads initiatives to improve vaccine uptake, expand access to cervical cancer screening, and enhance disease prevention efforts.
Her experience ranges across clinical care, health system strengthening, and public health leadership. She has worked in frontline nursing, served as a pediatric ward in-charge, and led district-level maternal and child health programs. Aidah is also a recognized immunization champion, having received the D-Prize Award and the Nursing Now Challenge Global Solutions Initiative (NNCGSI) Immunization Champion Award for her innovative approaches to vaccine communication and community engagement.
She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Manchester, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management from Uganda Management Institute.
Aidah believes women’s leadership in global health is essential for driving inclusive, community-driven solutions that improve health outcomes and strengthen equity in healthcare.
