I Dr. Nandini Kumar Shailabh, have worked with Uplift Mutuals to pioneer community based mutual health insurance in India, driven by an unyielding passion for serving the vulnerable and deprived, especially women, across the nation.
For the past 18 years, my journey has been intertwined with Uplift Mutuals, an organization committed to establishing comprehensive health financing solutions including mutual model of health microinsurance that caters to the needs of low income households in India. My vision has always been — how can we bring about transformative changes in the lives of the marginalized, ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all.
Central to my mission has been the empowerment of women. Recognizing the pivotal role they play in their families and communities, I have developed governance design that builds for their inclusion and leadership within the realm of mutual health microinsurance. Through innovative strategies and ground up efforts, I have spearheaded the establishment of a women-led governance and preventive health model, amplifying their voices, needs and agency in decision-making processes.
My journey has been one of perseverance and tenacity, navigating through challenges with unwavering determination through out my school and college days. Driven by a deep-seated commitment to my fellow country people, I have strived relentlessly to break down barriers and create avenues for meaningful change through my work at Uplift Mutuals.
My trajectory within Uplift Mutuals mirrors my unwavering dedication. Starting as a Development Coordinator, I embarked on a journey marked by continuous learning and growth. Through diligence and a steadfast vision, I ascended through the ranks to assume the role of CEO. In this capacity, I have led the organization towards unprecedented growth and expansion, cementing our position as pioneers in the realm of mutual health insurance.
As I look towards the horizon, my resolve remains unshaken.
