Nidhi Thakur is the Team Lead, One Health Mission PMU, at the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. In her current role, she is actively contributing to set up the National One Health mission which brings together diverse stakeholders like government, private sector, multilateral organizations, NGOs, academia etc., by leveraging multiple opportunities and bridging the gaps.
With a PhD in molecular biology and genetic engineering, she transitioned from the rigors of core lab research, and delved into the realm of policy, public health and innovation, recognizing the pivotal role of interdisciplinary collaboration in shaping effective healthcare strategies. This passion led to a postdoctoral fellowship focused on policy research on medical technologies, at IIT Delhi where she honed her skills in analysing the intersection of scientific innovation, regulatory frameworks, and public health outcomes. Thereafter, she joined the O/o Principal Scientific Adviser, which was an apt opportunity to put her learnings to practice. Beyond work, Nidhi is passionate about mentoring young minds, especially women, on the career landscape in STEAM fields. Leisurely, she likes experimenting with recipes and getting immersed in the world of cinema.
