Omotayo has been with US CDC for 23 years and is currently the Chief, Polio Eradication Branch. Between 2016-2022, she served as program Director for Immunization at CDC, Nigeria office and contributed to the wild polio virus free status Nigeria achieved . From 2012 –2016, she served as Country Director – U.S. CDC Cameroon and from 2002–2012, worked on President’s Emergency plan for AIDS Relief and supported several countries and led on projects and studies on HIV. Served as Co-Chair for interagency PMTCT Program.
Prior to CDC, Omotayo worked with various organizations in Nigeria including USAID, PSI and Doctors without Borders. Omotayo obtained her medical degree from College of Medicine, University of Lagos and a Masters and Diploma from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine . She has published several peer reviewed articles and a recipient of the HHS Public Health Frontline Officer, several wards, British Chevening scholarship.
