Dr. Pragati B Hebbar is a dentist by education, currently a public health researcher at the Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru. In the past decade in public health she has been involved in research and policy engagement on issues of tobacco control, road safety and non-communicable diseases. She engages in teaching at the institute by contributing to ongoing courses and workshops such as the online – implementation research course, realist evaluation workshop series and a course of tobacco industry and public policy.
She was awarded the prestigious DBT/ Wellcome Trust India Alliance Fellowship 2018 and the intermediate category award in 2023. She has co-authored about 20 national and international peer reviewed scientific publications and contributed to book chapters and technical reports. She has mentored several young public health researchers, dentists and support staff members. She recently completed her second term as an Assistant Director of Administration at IPH Bengaluru and was elected as a member of the board of Directors of the Health Systems Global to represent the South Asia region.
