Rabia Yussuf Esmail is an experienced Environmental and Occupational Health professional with expertise in public health policy, environmental risk management, and workplace safety. As a Senior Environmental Health Officer at Tanzania’s Ministry of Health, she leads initiatives on menstrual health and hygiene management, ensuring access to dignified menstrual care for schoolgirls and women in rural and underserved areas. Previously, she served as a Principal Tutor at Muhimbili College of Health and Allied Sciences, mentoring future health professionals and contributing to curriculum development.

Her work ecompasses policy development, research, consultancy, and leadership in public health, with a strong focus on gender-responsive interventions. She has contributed to national guidelines on water sanitation, occupational health, and infection prevention, shaping strategies that enhance health equity and resilience.

Rabia holds a Master of Science in Environmental and Occupational Health and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Muhimbili University. She is a WomenLift Health Leadership Program participant and has completed leadership training through the Uongozi Institute and WHO.

She believes women’s leadership is essential in shaping equitable health systems, driving inclusive policies, and fostering sustainable solutions.
