Sarah Wangilisasi is a pharmacist and global health leader with over 11 years of experience improving access to quality and affordable medicines in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). She specializes in market shaping, health supply chain optimization, and pharmaceutical systems strengthening, with expertise spanning family planning, maternal and child health, HIV, TB, malaria, nutrition, and assistive products.

She currently serves as the Country Lead for the Global Health Supply Chain (GHSC-PSM) project in Tanzania, overseeing the procurement and delivery of all USAID-funded health commodities. Previously, she worked at Results for Development (R4D), leading initiatives that address barriers to medicine access in LMICs. Earlier in her career, she worked with Tanzania’s National Medical Stores Department, managing the distribution of health commodities to 600+ health facilities.

Sarah holds a Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy and a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, alongside specialized training in strengthening rehabilitation systems and donor transition & sustainability from Johns Hopkins University. Passionate about women’s leadership in health, she believes that health programs are more effective when women’s voices are included in decision-making spaces.
