Dr. Tanya Seshadri is a community health practitioner and researcher, and has been with the Vivekananda Girijana Kalyana Kendra, BR Hills, Karnataka since 2012. She was instrumental in setting up the Tribal Health Resource Centre and is involved with overseeing the hospital and community health program catering to the Soliga and other tribal communities in Chamarajnagar district. The Centre is also involved in collaborative research and action on sickle cell disease and haemoglobinopathies, zoonotic diseases and in addressing other health problems among tribal communities. In collaboration with Institute of Public Health Bengaluru, she is currently co-leading the establishment of a multi-institutional research and training centre for action on tribal health called the Centre for Training, Research & Innovation in Tribal Health under an award from the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance.
