I wanted to be a doctor and know about my body as well as work towards complete health, since the time I can remember. I completed my graduation in medicine and very soon realized that I wanted to work in the field where I could resuscitate the critically ill patients and work towards easing their pain and hence I went ahead to specialize in Anaesthesiology and later subspecialize in Neuroanaesthesiology. I am working with the government sector since past 25 years now and have travelled in many cities, in small as well as tertiary care hospitals. I am also a teacher and at present working as a Professor and a Neuroanaesthesiologist. I have guided multiple post graduate students till date and have realized that men have an invisible support in family, however women always have to build support systems to succeed; they are not served support systems on a platter. All these years I have realized that when we talk about health we only focus on physical health and for women as a community, even physical health is low in priority. I have been working on understanding societal conditioning of the women and how “family before self” is the motto and am an advertiser of self-love for women, so that they keep their cup full and overflowing and learn to imbibe holistic health which included physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
