Wanjiru Mathenge has over 16 years of experience in health, specializing in social behavior change, health system strengthening, and social marketing. As Senior Program Manager for the IPPF WISH2 SRHR program, she drives transformative healthcare initiatives across seven sub-Saharan countries.
Her career journey began in marketing at an integrated advertising agency before transitioning into behavior change communications, where she designed and implemented innovative health campaigns in HIV, reproductive health, and malaria prevention with Population Services Kenya and PSI Kenya. She later expanded her impact by providing regional technical assistance for sexual and reproductive health programs.
Wanjiru holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce (MIS) with a minor in Economics and an MBA from the University of Nairobi. She is a certified behavior change expert with specialized training in social marketing, human-centered design, behavioral economics, and project management.
Fun Fact: A passionate foodie, Wanjiru dreams of mastering the art of smoking meat and becoming a pitmaster. She also hopes to improve her golf game and explore more travel adventures.
